Christmas is coming and you know it because the summer holiday drip, drip of festive foreplay has been emailed to you, is all over social media and is being discussed on TV and radio.
While the natural reaction is to dismiss this as an annoyance and cheap excuse to diminish the great festival, there is of course a serious issue for business to address.
And that issue is that Christmas really is coming.
For some it is an important time when sales should be maximised, for others it can be a blip which needs to be managed. Either way just what is your marketing strategy to make sure that your business is in front of as many people as possible in the build up to Christmas in an exciting and engaging way?
It’s remarkable how many companies I speak to that have a ‘hit and hope’ attitude to this marketing, more hope than hit of course.
And sadly it isn’t difficult or costly to plan. The development of a strategy and the channels by which it can be broadcast can be quickly and easily formed and the results remarkable.
So next time you see that 100 sleeps or 50 sleeps message, don’t forget that isn’t nights that are left before Christmas, that’s how many days you are snoozing on the job while valuable business is heading elsewhere.
