During the time Darren has been involved with TRACKS autism as a supporter and a Trustee he has been a consumate professional.
He has assisted the charity with its wide range of media and communications needs and has certainly used his expertise in the media industry as Editor of the Comet Newspaper to enable us to benefit from a much higher profile than otherwise might have been the case. He has a great sense of humour, brilliant people skills, and a combination of media skills difficult to find in one professional.

I have known Darren Isted personally and professionally for almost twenty years and have worked alongside him on the Board of Trustees of the Stevenage Community Trust. A highly talented journalist, Darren is capable, trustworthy and reliable. He is a leading citizen of Stevenage and Hertfordshire, his commitment to the local community is unquestionable, and he is a much valued trustee of our pre-eminent town charity. I have enjoyed knowing him as editor of the Comet and I wish him the very best in his new venture.

I have known of & worked with Darren Isted for 25 years. During this time he has pro-actively promoted and supported in particular the first company we founded, Stevenage Packaging Ltd, who have been winners of several Archant sponsored events over the years.
The Comet newspaper during Darren’s time there actively supported the second business, Genetics Gymnasium Ltd, we founded in Stevenage. This includes updated articles as the business doubled in size and sold in the early to mid-90’s.
This backing was repeated once again when in 2003 we founded the charity, Uniqueness, working to inspire the state school students in Stevenage by regularly reporting on the presentations that took place.
By volunteering his time as a Trustee of the Stevenage Community Trust, Darren’s commitment to Stevenage and the surrounding area by regularly helping to highlight the good works of the trust with the numerous articles about those in need, testify that he cares genuinely for the community in which he resides and works within.
I have no doubt with his knowledge, experience and wisdom of traditional marketing and social media, underpinned with his strong network, that his new venture will be as a successful journey to that which he has enjoyed for 25 years with Archant Newspapers.
